FAU Department Hosts Annual FECEDHA Meeting

The Florida Atlantic University Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science hosted the Florida Universities Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Heads Association (FECEDHA)  meeting in June to discuss collaborations to develop statewide research, and educational programs to create technology jobs. The guest speaker was Gloria Wiens, Ph.D., FloridaMakes, Director of Advanced Manufacturing – BRIDG, Florida’s NIST/Manufacturing Extension Partnership Center.

"The goal of the organization is to work together to create a technically thriving community in the state of Florida," said Nurgun Erdol, chair and professor of the FAU Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science. "We discuss electrical and computer engineering programs from the viewpoint of research, education, service and outreach to the Florida community at large."

The ECEDHA  is the parent organization which is composed of heads or chairs of departments offering accredited programs in electrical and/or computer engineering. Its purpose is to help advance the field, facilitate member interaction and idea exchange and improve communication with the profession, industry, government and others. Meetings are held annually at hosting institutions.
